Supplier Quality Engineer

Position Summary

The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for driving the organization’s Zero Defect Strategy and continuous improvement within the supply base for compliance and risk mitigation.

  Lead supplier qualification as a key member of supplier selection and evaluation teams, employing a risk‑based approach.
• Lead Supplier Audits: Conduct audits applying good auditing practices and the Quality Management System (QMS) for new programs and ongoing supplier management.

  Use product specifications to identify Critical to Quality features and complete part qualification activities using PPAP elements, integrating part qualification into receiving inspection, sampling plans, and inspection criteria.
• Represent Supplier Quality: Participate in APQP teams and supplier change requests, driving Zero Defect strategies into the supply chain.
• Supplier Management: Lead corrective actions across the supply chain, analyze data trends, provide feedback, and categorize suppliers by risk.
• Engineering Expertise: Apply engineering expertise to challenge supplier processes using PFMEA, CP, SPC, and guide future supplier quality strategies.
• Process Improvement: Apply domain depth to SOPs, work instructions, and templates to improve standard work and operational rigor.

• Bachelor’s Degree with 2+ years of related experience (preferred). Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
• ASQ Certification preferred (CQE, CQA, CMQOE).
• Broad understanding of materials, manufacturing technologies and processes.

Support operational teams in a manufacturing environment, requiring compliance with personal protective equipment and typical manufacturing conditions. Activities include inspecting, qualifying, troubleshooting, and improving jigs, fixtures, and manufacturing methods.

Salary range: $63,900.00 – $95,900.00. The salary offered will be based on geographic location, experience, education, and skill level.
