Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer
Summary
Carex is partnering with a manufacturing industry partner to identify a Facilities (Industrial) Engineer who will plan and oversee the layout of equipment, office, and production facilities to maximize workflow, improve spatial utilization, and support a safe, efficient operation. This role leads and supports capital projects, evaluates equipment and facility needs, and partners cross-functionally to enhance performance, reliability, and long-term asset availability.
The position is primarily office-based with frequent time spent in production and warehouse environments, and includes frequent travel.
- Plan and oversee the layout of equipment, office, and production facilities to improve workflow, spatial utilization, and overall facility efficiency
- Execute strategic engineering objectives that support operational reliability and maximize asset availability and longevity
- Support and conduct equipment feasibility studies and provide recommendations for investment opportunities
- Contribute to the development of capital expenditure plans aligned with operational needs and growth objectives
- Design and manage capital projects, including defining scope, budget, timeline, and responsibilities
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to implement capital investment projects that drive operational excellence
- Support project design and management activities, including supplier selection, equipment acquisition and installation, materials procurement, and process changes
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company policies and applicable local, state, and federal regulations
- Maintain current industry, professional, and technical knowledge through networking, industry events, and professional publications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Strong knowledge of industry developments, trends, and practices related to manufacturing products or product components
- Understanding of methodologies, tools, and techniques for designing, building, and managing the manufacture of new products
- Knowledge of product design methodologies, including phases, activities, and deliverables for new and existing products
- Knowledge of manufacturing methodologies for launching new products or improving existing products
- Ability to apply technical, scientific, and mathematical principles to design and implement materials, structures, machines, devices, systems, and processes
- Familiarity with manufacturing technologies and applications used to optimize production processes
- Ability to work effectively in both office and production or warehouse environments
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
