Job Description
To develop, direct and coordinate projects for Amcor Flexibles North America which involve both mechanical and electrical components.
What You Get To Do- Acts as a safety leader.
- Determines customer’s needs by identifying problems and safety concerns; develops and evaluates alternate solutions to narrow down and define project scope.
- Coordinates, prepares and/or assembles the engineering package/project documentation for each assigned project.
- Provides purchasing services for project materials required: reviews potential vendors, contacts vendors, coordinates with Purchasing Department, issues purchase orders, negotiates pricing, and expedites delivery.
- Coordinates project costs, scheduling, and supplies pertinent communication for projects that may vary in scope and responsibilities.
- Determines materials required for each project: reviews potential vendors, issues purchase requisitions and expedites delivery when necessary.
- Interfaces with people, departments, and/or companies to ensure that equipment is safe, made on schedule, and to specification.
- Coordinates or assists with installation, checkout, start‑up and training as necessary.
- Provides engineering support and troubleshooting to the plant when machine breakdown issues cannot be solved by maintenance.
- Actively participates in Continuous Improvement projects and leads teams as requested.
- Technical Expertise:
Demonstrates growing knowledge of engineering standards and applies concepts and theories to resolve increasingly complex issues; keeps up with current industry. - Project Management:
Begins acting as project or team leader with increasing ownership of projects; performs cost analysis and manages project costs. - Decision Making and Analysis:
Examines information from internal and external sources; makes decisions, seeks clarification on conflicting data and consults with colleagues. - Communication:
Tailors communication appropriately, keeping manager and colleagues informed on projects. - Leadership:
Approaches challenging tasks with a can‑do attitude; takes independent positions in the face of opposition and delegates tasks to maximize contribution.
- A bachelor’s degree in an engineering field (BSEE, BSME, BSET, BEMT) with 3‑6 years of experience.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing terminology, processes, and tools.
- Understanding of business processes and process improvement.
- Exceptional analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Travel up to 10% of the time to support plants.
- Ability to support onsite 24‑hour on‑call schedule during project go‑lives.
