The Middle Office Support Specialist is a specialist-level role at the intersection of Trust Administration and Trust Operations at Legacy Private Trust Company, serving as the critical operational link between the two functions and ensuring that client accounts move seamlessly from relationship management through operational execution. This position provides essential support to the trust administration team, playing a central role in the accurate, timely, and compliant administration of personal trust, estate, and corporate trust accounts.

The Middle Office Support Specialist owns the account opening and closing processes end to end, ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready at every stage. This role serves as a knowledgeable resource for both the Administration and Operations teams by coordinating across departments, supporting client service continuity, and ensuring that account activity is handled with precision and follow-through at every step.

Beyond day-to-day account administration, the Middle Office Support Specialist plays an active role in building and defining the Middle Office function, working closely with the Senior Support Services Officer to develop processes, establish operational workflows, and strengthen the infrastructure that supports Legacy’s continued growth.

This position is well-suited for a detail-oriented, operationally-minded professional who communicates effectively across teams, takes pride in accuracy and follow-through, and brings the initiative and intellectual curiosity to help Legacy build something lasting while deepening their own expertise in trust administration, fiduciary law, and operational excellence.

Requirements Education

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Legal Studies, Business Administration, or a related field. An Associate’s degree combined with directly relevant experience in trust operations or financial services will be considered.

Preferred:
Advanced coursework or continuing education in Trust Administration, Investments, Financial Planning, or Estate Planning.

Expected:
Ongoing professional development through recognized industry programs, including those offered by the Wisconsin Bankers Association (WBA), American Bankers Association (ABA), and similar organizations. On-the-job experience and mentorship from Legacy’s senior leaders will supplement formal education.

Experience

Required:

1–3 years of relevant experience in banking, trust operations, accounting, or related financial services field.

Demonstrated ability to manage complex operational and administrative responsibilities with accuracy, professionalism, and sound judgment; experience handling client inquiries in a professional setting is a plus.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret trust documents, legal agreements, and related financial materials.

Proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities and competing priorities accurately in a fast-paced professional environment.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and comfort navigating enterprise systems, including trust accounting platforms and CRM tools.

Preferred: 3–5 years of progressive experience in banking, trust operations, accounting, or a related financial services setting. Prior experience with trust account administration and client-facing responsibilities is strongly preferred.
