Purpose StatementThe Sr Tax Analyst is responsible for income tax compliance and reporting on a global basis for a rapidly growing multinational publicly traded company. This includes tax‑related issues such as preparation, planning and research as well as communicating with U.S. and non‑U.S. finance teams. The role will involve strategic tax planning, managing complex issues, and providing guidance to junior team members.
KeyJob Accountabilities
- Serve as a subject‑matter expert for various tax issues in communications with the business sites. Assist in developing innovative and creative solutions to resolve or minimize potential tax risk for our business sites, and proactively offer tax advice for business partners.
- Assist in completing the quarterly and annual effective tax rate calculations, reviewing all tax accounts, and preparing and reviewing the quarterly and annual disclosures of tax information found in financial statements, 10Q and 10K footnotes and other disclosures.
- Support tax management by maintaining tax accounts, reviewing and maintaining schedules used to support quarterly financial statements and tax footnotes, and reviewing deferred tax computations.
- Ensure timely completion of Plexus’ tax filing obligations, including indirect and/or excise taxes, annual federal and local income tax filing requirements, and any required estimated payments. The compliance function may also require an annual tax return review with management, the local controller and third‑party service provider prior to filing with the local taxing authority.
- Research and document tax planning opportunities by creating schedules and communicating with finance organization members supporting planned initiatives.
- Participate in the completion of tax reviews/audits by taxing authorities. The audit process may include researching tax technical issues, understanding underlying business processes to determine tax exposure, interacting with the auditor, and writing formal letters of protest.
- 3 years of related experience and a bachelor’s degree. Five (5) or more years of related experience and/or a master’s degree is preferred.
- A CPA designation (or equivalent) is preferred but not required.
