Systems Administrator, Systems Engineer, Cybersecurity, IT Infrastructure
With a rich multigenerational history and a reputation for creating and delivering products and services that delight our customers (so they can delight theirs), Galloway Company is a recognized leader in the dairy processing industry.
We’re looking for an organized, hands‑on OT Systems Administrator to be the on‑site coordinator and go‑to point of contact for our Operational Technology (OT) environment — including our Foxboro control system and the infrastructure that supports it. This is a coordination‑focused role: you’ll handle the day‑to‑day and smaller technical tasks yourself, and partner with our controls engineers, outside consultants, and Foxboro field support to plan and deliver the more complex work.
You don’t need to be a Foxboro expert on day one. What matters most is that you’re a capable systems administrator who’s well organized, communicates clearly, knows when to bring in the right specialists, and can see projects through to the finish. As part of the IT Department, you’ll work across IT, engineering, operations, and maintenance to keep our plant‑floor systems reliable and available in a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Serve as the on‑site point of contact for the OT environment — handling routine administration and lower‑complexity tasks directly, and coordinating outside specialists for the rest.
- Partner with controls engineers, systems integrators, and Foxboro field support on design, engineering, and complex troubleshooting — scheduling the work around production, tracking it, and seeing it through to completion.
- Work with outside consulting resources on long‑term OT planning, and help build and manage project plans for automation projects, plant expansions, and system upgrades.
- Contribute hands‑on to project tasks within your scope, while coordinating vendors and specialists for the higher‑complexity technical work.
- Help plan and procure Foxboro hardware for expansions and improvements.
- Coordinate server backups and patching with the appropriate vendors, aligned to production schedules and uptime requirements.
- Use System Auditor and other monitoring tools to keep an eye on overall Foxboro system health, and bring in Foxboro field support when deeper diagnosis or intervention is needed.
- Support basic cyber security practices — such as access control and network segmentation awareness — in partnership with IT and outside experts, who lead the more advanced security work.
- Keep documentation current — network diagrams, system configurations, backups, vendor contacts, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Act as the technical liaison across IT, engineering, maintenance, operations, and external vendors, building strong working relationships across the board.
- 3+ years in systems administration, IT/infrastructure support, or a similar technical role — experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is a plus.
- Solid general systems administration skills (Windows Server, basic networking, backups, patching) and the judgment to know when to bring in a specialist.
- A natural coordinator: comfortable managing vendors and contractors, tracking project tasks, and communicating clearly between technical experts and plant staff.
- A working knowledge of — or a genuine willingness to learn — OT/industrial control system concepts (Foxboro, PLCs, SCADA, historians, industrial networks). Direct OT experience is a plus, not a requirement.
- Basic awareness of network and cyber security concepts in an industrial setting (for example, segmentation and access control). Deep security expertise isn’t required — IT and outside specialists lead that work.
- Strong documentation habits and organizational…
