Biro of Chicago Inc. who merged with The Workers of Wisconsin two years ago are respected leaders in food equipment distribution across the Midwest for over 60 years. We’re expanding leadership at our Wisconsin facility (The Workers of Wisconsin) and are looking for a driven, service‑minded parts & service director who knows how a service department truly runs — and is ready to take ownership of people, customers, and operations.
This is a role for someone who thrives in the center of the action. You’ll lead technicians, support customers, manage schedules, and ensure our branch operates with excellence every day.
What You’ll Do- Lead, mentor, and support a team of technicians
, ensuring jobs stay on track, on time, and on budget. - Work directly with customers
, identifying parts, interpreting schematics, and providing confident, knowledgeable solutions. - Oversee inventory, invoicing, and job profitability with a sharp eye for accuracy and efficiency.
- Manage installations, service scheduling, and technician dispatching
, keeping the workflow smooth and predictable. - Own the upkeep of our warehouse with our warehouse manager.
- Jump into the field when needed
, providing hands‑on support or an extra set of skilled eyes. - Collaborate closely with our Chicago headquarters
, ensuring alignment, communication, and shared success.
We need a leader — someone who understands service operations, knows how technicians work, and can balance customer needs with operational discipline.
You should bring- Proven leadership experience in a service‑oriented or technical environment.
- Strong communication skills and a customer‑first mindset.
- Solid organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- A willingness to learn new systems and adapt to evolving technologies.
- Experience in food equipment service or sales.
- Background as a service technician or hands‑on field repair experience.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and work flexible hours when needed.
