Material Handler - 3rd Shift

The material handler is responsible for the movement of material throughout the site. This may include loading/unloading of trailers and movement of raw materials, work in process (WIP) and finished goods. This role is performed on the 3rd Shift, 10 PM-6 AM.

Starting Hiring Rate: $21.58/hr plus $2/hr shift differential

• Move material to/from raw, WIP, finished, shipping, receiving, and manufacturing areas.
• Unload/load trucks and tankers with incoming and outgoing materials; verify materials against receiving and shipping documents.
• Complete appropriate transactions to document the movement of material within the Inventory Management System.
• Complete warehouse and departmental cycle counts and correct discrepancies.
• Help manage rack inventories.
• Pick up and transfer material racks, pallets, and other consumable supplies to and from production areas as required.
• Condense warehouse space and maintain good housekeeping.
• Perform all assignments, duties, and tasks safely following standard procedures and practices; encourage others to do so and report unsafe conditions immediately.
• Perform duties to improve quality and productivity continuously.
• Maintain a safe, clean work area.
• Assist in equipment maintenance activities as directed.
• Communicate and coordinate necessary information to appropriate department and shift employees to ensure effective operations.
• Lead the recycling of pallets, cardboard, and scrap materials.
• Support all 5S housekeeping activities.
• Packing and palletizing as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing work experience.
• Ability to follow written and oral instruction.
• Strong commitment to safety and role modeling safety practices, policies, and procedures.
• Strong service and quality focus; ability to address issues effectively, understand root causes, and communicate and educate the team timely.
• Ability to actively contribute in a team‑based environment and encourage open communication and positive interaction with peers and management.
• Demonstrated proficiency in essential tasks of the job and willingness to learn and share knowledge; initiative to cross‑train and sustain acquired skills.
• Record of flexibility and dependability to support production and customer focus.
• Willingness to work overtime, including short‑notice requests.
• Proficiency with computer applications, especially strong Oracle transactional skills.
