OverviewThe Production System Manager (PSM) provides overall team leadership to manage plant operations in safety, quality, cost, productivity, continuous improvement, housekeeping/5S, good manufacturing practices (GMP), internal control, asset management, customer service, human resources, and team capability development. The PSM works closely with the Plant Manager and other team managers to set objectives that directly impact plant and sector results.
About the RoleThis role is responsible for effectively leading business objectives for the operations area, driving continuous improvement across high‑capacity and technically complex manufacturing processes, and collaborating with business functions such as R&D, marketing, sales, logistics, and engineering.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership and support to ensure a safety environment, develop team ownership of safety objectives, and champion loss‑control improvement processes.
- Own the development and execution of safety improvement plans, ensuring investigations are completed and counter‑measures are in place.
- Ensure assets comply with housekeeping/5S standards and that quality is built into all processes.
- Lead improvements to ensure full quality‑management system compliance, and maintain implementation of quality control and information systems.
- Ensure compliance with FDA cGMP (21
CFR
820) and other regulatory requirements. - Create a fair and equitable workplace, engaging employees, driving continuous improvement, and fostering talent development.
- Prepare and implement department budgets and schedules, managing capital and expense authorizations within unit budget limits.
- Identify cost‑savings opportunities and manage expense spending.
- Build and maintain an optimum organization structure that drives OPEX/Lean capability.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including financial managers, analysts, and site cost‑center owners—to align operational actions with strategic planning and supply‑chain objectives.
- Manage vendor/supplier relationships and act as an escalation point when necessary.
- Support the development of site‑operations objectives and build action plans for asset and product‑system delivery.
- Partner with the Plant Reliability Manager to standardize planning and scheduling practices, providing coaching and capability development with SAP.
- Develop and continually optimize the asset‑down management process.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related discipline and 10+ years of equivalent experience.
- Significant experience in Operations, Business, Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, and/or Maintenance.
- Demonstrated ability to organize, influence, and lead a multi‑functional team.
- Experience with multiple plants, product systems, and corporate staff experience highly desired.
- Leadership experience of a non‑exempt workforce.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and travel up to 15% for benchmarking.

SalaryThe anticipated base pay range for this role is USD
157,720 – 194,760. Actual pay will depend on location, role, skills, performance and experience.
Primary:
Neenah – Cold Spring Facility. Additional locations as needed.
