JOB SUMMARY ~

The Director of Production will partner with executive leadership to build and execute a predictable, accountable, and scalable manufacturing production system across CMP and TFC. This leader will be accountable for the execution of production by manufacturing product on-time, efficiently, safely and to quality standards. They will strengthen plant level execution, capacity planning, resource utilization, margins, and workforce development to improve output reliability and profitability.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES ~
  • Coach, mentor, and develop production teams, line supervisors, and operators to ensure high engagement and low turnover, while leading hiring efforts to expand manufacturing capacity.
  • Align floor‑level decisions regarding shift staffing, skill development, plant safety, material staging, and work center organization with the company's master business plan.
  • Analyze manufacturing data to pinpoint cost drivers by part and work center, deploying strategies to reduce scrap, minimize direct labor costs, and finalize the rollout of a real‑time labor and material job‑costing system.
  • Deploy expert knowledge of cellular manufacturing, batch processing, pull systems, and quick‑response manufacturing (QRM) to optimize factory floor layouts and eliminate bottlenecks.
  • Own production metrics alongside executive leadership, tracking lagging KPIs like on‑time delivery while establishing leading indicators including schedule adherence, work center capacity limits, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Assess plant capabilities to rapidly scale and optimize high‑value paint and assembly departments while phasing out legacy, low‑margin fabrication processes.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES ~
  • Apply strong business and problem‑solving skills to develop practical solutions and support continuous improvement initiatives across departments.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement new processes, technologies, and systems to improve efficiency, quality, and communication across both business operations.
  • Contribute to accelerating standardized business processes, including ISO 9001 implementation and UL Certification at Tube Fabrication & Color.
REQUIRED SKILLS ~
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Expertise in implementing and monitoring plant level key performance indicators.
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail and follow through to completion of objectives required.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to align and energize teams around growth-oriented goals.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE ~
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Management, Operations, or related field preferred
  • Lean Six-Sigma Green Belt or equivalent experience, Black Belt a plus.
  • Experience with data driven tools such as Power BI and/or Artificial Intelligence is a strong advantage.
  • At least 6 years of industry‑related experience including three years in management required.
