Job Description

Amcor is currently searching for individuals to join our Neenah production plant team!

Job Duties
  • Set up, operate, and adjust machines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Supply machines with resins and packing supplies from satellite areas.
  • Make roll changes, take samples, label and pack product, and stretch wrap finished loads.
  • Conduct certain quality tests and monitor product to ensure conformance to spec.
  • Make inventory transactions.
  • Restock unused resins.
  • Move waste and recycle loads to specified areas so Production Suppliers can pick up.
  • Material handling and other duties as assigned by supervision.
Compensation

$24.58/hour + premiums, including Double Time on Sundays and Holidays. Pay progression:
After probationary period (400 hours), $26.61/hour + premiums; after 1 year, the pay increases to $28.92/hour.

Schedule

Work a 12‑hour rotating shift from 6:30–6:30; 3–4 shifts on days, followed by 1, 3, or 7 days off, then 3–4 shifts on nights. OR Monday‑Friday 8‑hour swing shift schedule.

Utility Workers Responsibilities
  • Provide support by assisting in producing quality product in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Communicate with supervisor throughout the shift to determine which lines are the highest priority (Make Ready, Die Clean, Size Change).
  • Assist operator in taking off completed rolls, aligning cores, and replacing shafts.
  • Help operator take samples, weigh rolls, and pack and band finished rolls.
  • Assist operator to ensure proper labeling of finished goods.
  • Slabs off reject or make‑ready stock from core.
  • Maintain resin:
    Replace and break down empty pillar packs of resin; refill toes of resin at the proper mini farm; blend resin in line blender.
  • Assist operator when starting up the machine by pulling drool rings, pulling up the bubble, separating the web, and disposing of junk rolls.
  • Act in place of the operator during their absence.
  • Perform general clean‑up of machines and work area.
  • Help maintain common areas by banding and removing stacks of pillar packs, removing junk pallets, and replacing junk core pillar packs.
  • For Wax Department only (8‑hour role) – routine facility care (janitorial) and other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Competencies
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated extrusion machine competency or ability to demonstrate within the prescribed training timeframe.
  • Ability to use computer keyboard, mouse, and printer for entering and documenting production settings and data.
  • Mobile equipment license or ability to obtain license.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, team environment.
Authority
  • To shut down or lock out equipment reasonably believed to be hazardous.
  • To give final release on product within specifications.
  • To make good‑faith efforts to troubleshoot and correct problems or behaviors.
