CLEANING ROOM GENERAL - 2nd shift (NFC) (Manufacturing)

The Cleaning Room General role supports the finishing department. In this position, you will be working directly with iron castings. Castings enter the Cleaning Room on a conveyor. You and your team members – under the direction of a Team Lead - will inspect each casting and use hand-held tools to remove excess metal and then move the casting it to the appropriate conveyor or palette sometimes using a hoist or a winch.

This is a physical position. You and your team members will be on your feet the entire shift, taking instruction and direction from a Team Lead. You will be working in a loud, warm, and dirty environment. You must be able to stand for extended periods of time, have good hand-eye coordination and possess the ability to multi-task. The position offers the opportunity for cross training and experience in a variety of tasks related to production.

• Practice high levels of safety at all times
• Operate hoists to move castings over 50 lbs
• Remove gating and risers with use of hammers or wedges
• Follow process sheets and work lists
• Sort castings into boxes or onto pallets
• Inspect and sort parts for defects
• Maintain cleanliness of production area
• Assembly of castings *
• Operate saw, pencil grinder, and basic hand tools as needed *
• Help with other tasks in department as needed

• Must be at least 18 years old to apply

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

• Must be available to work 10 hour shifts
• Must be available for overtime as production needs require
• Typical shift hours:
• 1 shift: 4:45 am – 3:00 pm

• Base pay rate of $25.16, 2 shift premium: $1.50, 3 shift premium: $1.00
• Base rates increase $1.00/hour upon successful completion of probation (60 working days)
