The Production Scheduler is responsible for mid and long-term work center and aggregate capacity planning in a mixed-mode manufacturing environment. This role ensures that high-volume contract program work is efficiently balanced against volatile Make-to-Order (MTO) demands, protecting overall plant profitability and securing capacity for strict On-Time Delivery (OTD) accounts.
- Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 9-hour days;
Friday, half-day. - Compensation: Hourly position with two bonus opportunities annually.
- Reporting Structure: Position reports directly to Production Manager
- Strategic MPS Management:
Develop, maintain, and execute the Master Production Schedule (MPS) inside ECI M1 for project/MTO and contract programs. - Capacity Buffer Architecture:
Analyze capacity on shared machinery bottlenecks; intentionally design and protect capacity "buffer windows" in M1 to absorb variable MTO work without disrupting strict-OTD program commitments. - MRP Execution:
Run and analyze weekly M1 Material Requirements Planning (MRP) sessions to trigger long-lead raw material purchases. - OTD Risk Mitigation:
Collaborate with Sales, Account Managers and Production to review strict-OTD customer requirements, forecasting capacity and production plans. - Dynamic Shop Floor Sequencing:
Utilize M1 Visual Job Boards and Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS) to sequence and dispatch daily work orders to specific work centers.
- Apply strong business and problem-solving skills to develop practical solutions and support continuous improvement initiatives across departments.
- Identify, recommend, and implement new processes, technologies, and systems to improve plans, predictability and communication across both business operations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity in implementing and monitoring leading indicators related to scheduling and planning.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail and follow through to completion of objectives required.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to align and energize teams around growth-oriented goals.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in project management, Business Management, Operations, or related field preferred
- Experience with data driven tools such as Power BI and/or Artificial Intelligence is a strong advantage.
- At least 3 years of industry-related experience
