ICU RN – Intensive Care Unit (ICU) – Neenah Hospital
Location: Neenah, Wisconsin – Theda Care Regional Medical Center
Employment Type: Full Time (0.9 FTE), 36 scheduled weekly hours
Schedule12‑hour rotating shifts (5:30a.m.–6p.m. / 5:30p.m.–6a.m.). Every third weekend and holiday rotations required.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients, including ventilatory support, hemodynamic monitoring, and other life support.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and manage complex treatment protocols.
- Perform assessments of vital signs, condition, and symptoms; report changes to the healthcare team.
- Monitor and maintain hemodynamic stability using invasive and non‑invasive techniques.
- Assist with procedures such as central line insertions, intubation, and tracheostomy care.
- Accurately document patient care in the electronic health record.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and team members on individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans and care procedures.
- Respond to critical situations and code events with life‑saving interventions (CPR, defibrillation, airway management).
- Participate in daily rounds and contribute to interdisciplinary care plans.
- Precept and support new nurses and nursing students as required.
- Maintain infection control standards and follow hospital protocols.
- Current Wisconsin RN or compact nursing licensure.
- Minimum 1 year of hospital RN experience preferred.
- American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
- BSN completion required for non‑BSN nurses within 5 years of hire.
- Ability to move freely, stand, stoop, walk, bend, push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to blood‑borne pathogens and sharp objects.
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals.
- Occasional high noise level, and potentially aggressive or combative patients.
- Regular standing and walking for extended periods, transporting and positioning patients.
