Trailer Mechanic

The Trailer Mechanic role at Master Fleet LLC is a full-time, on-site position. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining trailers of various makes and models, including brakes, suspensions, lighting, electrical systems, and structural components. Daily tasks include performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and DOT-compliant safety checks, as well as documenting all work performed in accordance with company procedures.

The Trailer Mechanic will use a variety of tools and equipment to complete repairs, coordinate with service advisors and parts personnel, and ensure that trailers are returned to customers promptly and in safe operating condition. The role may also include occasional support for mobile service or emergency repairs, following all safety protocols and quality standards.

• Demonstrated skills in trailer diagnostics, mechanical repair, and preventive maintenance for brakes, suspensions, axles, and lighting systems.
• Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic instruments in a safe and efficient manner.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations, safety standards, and best practices for commercial vehicle inspection and repair.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting skills and the ability to read service manuals, diagrams, and work orders.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and commitment to quality workmanship and customer service.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment, manage multiple work orders, and collaborate effectively with team members.
• Previous experience as a trailer, truck, or diesel mechanic in a fleet or commercial repair setting is highly beneficial.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in diesel or automotive technology is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; CDL is an asset but not required.
• Willingness to work assigned shifts, including occasional evenings or weekends, and to participate in ongoing training.
