Pool Supervisor
  • Average Hours per Week: 10 - 30 hours
  • Compensation: $22.00 per hour
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 19 years of age by opening of the Neenah Pool Season.
  • Current certification in American Red Cross First Aid, Professional Rescuer CPR and AED.
  • Have general knowledge and experience of aquatics facilities.
  • Have previous general supervisory experience.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to deal courteously with the general public.
  • Ability to work with varied age groups.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Job Description

The Pool Supervisors oversee the on-site supervision of staff and facility operations. The Supervisors are responsible for the impression the pool operation gives the public and ensures that the facility is clean and safe during all open hours. Supervisors are an important link between the public and the Parks and Recreation Department. The Pool Supervisors may supervise up to 33 part time, seasonal employees.

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of staff orientations and in-service meetings.
  • Follow protocol for the opening and closing of the facility.
  • Make decisions as to opening or closing early, due to weather conditions and/or attendance numbers
  • Interact positively and in an exemplary fashion with customers, respond to inquiries and complaints from customers; and provide information as appropriate.
  • Be aware and knowledgeable of pool maintenance, admissions, concessions, and emergency procedures.
  • Insure proper food and cash handling procedures are being followed.
  • Assist swim instructors in planning and coordinating skills for swim lessons.
  • Complete performance evaluations on lifeguards and admissions/concessions staff.
  • Record staff hours on timesheets.
  • Monitor water quality, test water chemistry, analyze, and make proper adjustments to maintain state code.

Interview Information
  • Winter interview invitations will be emailed mid December. Interview dates will take place on the final week of December.
  • Returning staff will not be guaranteed continued employment, but will be given first consideration.
