Accounts Payable Clerk (Neosho, MO)

Opal Foods is a partnership between Rose Acre Farms and Weaver Brothers, founded in 2014. We provide high‑quality, nutritious, affordable eggs through our farms in Missouri, Colorado, and Iowa, with headquarters in Neosho, MO.

The Accounts Payable Clerk processes vendor invoices, ensures timely and accurate payments, resolves discrepancies, and maintains strong communication with vendors and internal departments. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the financial accuracy and integrity of the company’s operations.

• Review and process high‑volume vendor invoices accurately and efficiently
• Match invoices to purchase orders and receive documentation
• Verify approvals and ensure adherence to company payment policies
• Reconcile vendor statements and respond to inquiries professionally and timely
• Maintain organized records of AP transactions and documentation across multiple companies
• Support month‑end closing processes and AP account reconciliations
• Collaborate with purchasing, receiving, and other departments to resolve discrepancies
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements
• Will comply with Opal Foods biosecurity policies requiring no contact with any bird species other than the company’s laying hens, including domestic ducks, geese, wild birds, chickens, and pet birds

• High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field a plus
• 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookups a plus)
• Experience with ERP systems such as AERO or OVO preferred
• Excellent organizational and time‑management skills
• Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities
• Ability to complete a brief, hands‑on Excel assessment as part of the interview process
