Neosho Junior High School is seeking an innovative, creative, and student-centered Multimedia Teacher to inspire students through digital storytelling, filmmaking, audio production, and multimedia design. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping 7th and 8th grade students develop technical skills while fostering creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and effective communication.
This position provides students with authentic, project-based learning experiences that mirror industry practices and encourage students to become creative problem-solvers and effective digital communicators.
Essential Responsibilities- Develop and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction in multimedia production for seventh and eighth grade students.
- Teach students to plan, write, produce, edit, and present original multimedia projects using a variety of digital tools and production techniques.
- Facilitate learning experiences in areas including:
- Filmmaking
- Digital media production
- Audio storytelling and podcasting
- Stop‑motion and computer animation
- Video editing
- Live‑action video production
- Trailer and promotional video creation
- Biography and documentary storytelling
- Guide students through the complete creative production process, from concept development and storyboarding to filming, editing, publishing, and presentation.
- Foster creativity while teaching industry-standard workflows, production techniques, and responsible use of digital technologies.
- Create a classroom culture that encourages collaboration, innovation, attention to detail, problem‑solving, and self‑directed learning.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of middle school students.
- Integrate digital citizenship, copyright awareness, online safety, and ethical media practices into daily instruction.
- Assess student learning using project‑based rubrics, performance tasks, and authentic demonstrations of learning.
- Maintain multimedia equipment, technology, and classroom resources.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning opportunities and showcase student work.
- Participate in professional development and remain current with emerging multimedia technologies and instructional practices.
