Material Handler
Job Summary
The position is responsible for the pick‑up, delivery and stocking of various materials throughout the campus using PIV equipment or manual transportation. Various forms of technology are used including but not limited to scanners, PC and tablets. The objective of the position is to ensure that all areas have the appropriate supplies needed for assembly at the proper time, while maintaining inventory accuracy.
Job Responsibilities- Operate various forms of PIV equipment to receive, deliver and store supplies
- Obtain work order to determine parts needed and delivery location
- Retrieve sub‑assemblies and parts from storage locations
- Load carts with required parts
- Stage completed carts in designated location
- Use a scanner and/or tablet to manage transactions, transfer parts, perform inventory inquiries, maintenance counts, and report outages
- Return unused parts, empty containers, and empty carts to designated storage/replenishment location
- Move completed assemblies or boxed furniture into designated locations
- Follow health and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean workplace following 5S standards
- Perform other tasks as assigned
- Equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the above duties
- Basic reading and writing skills
- Basic math knowledge
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to scan effectively to maintain accurate inventory levels
- Achieve performance standards
- Maintain PIV license as needed
If this role requires travel / driving in order to perform the key responsibilities outlined above, candidates must be able to meet the qualifications noted in the company’s Driver Management Program to be considered for the role.
