Job Description

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Mother Baby/Postpartum specialty provides comprehensive nursing care to postpartum patients, supporting their recovery and wellbeing. They collaborate with physicians to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans, ensuring patient-centered and evidence-based practices.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate postpartum patients and assist physicians with patient care activities.
• Develop, implement, and document individualized care plans based on assessments and patient needs.
• Conduct ongoing assessments to identify patient needs and prioritize interventions accordingly.
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions, including newborn care and postpartum support.
• Manage daily patient care documentation in compliance with standards, acuity levels, and clinical priorities.
• Advocate for best practices in postpartum and neonatal care, supporting evidence-based innovations.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3+ years of mother-baby or postpartum nursing experience.
• Current NJ State Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
• BLS certification from AHA; NRP certification required.
• Strong clinical skills in postpartum, postpartum, and neonatal care.
• Effective communication and patient advocacy skills.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred.
