Mother Baby/Postpartum Registered Nurse

The Registered Nurse specializing in Mother Baby/Postpartum provides comprehensive nursing care to postpartum patients and newborns. They collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure safe, evidence-based, patient-centric care throughout the postpartum and neonatal periods.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor postpartum patients and newborns to identify clinical needs and prioritize care.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient assessments, physician diagnoses, and clinical guidelines.
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions, including postpartum pain management and newborn care.
• Document all nursing activities accurately, adhering to standards of care, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
• Educate new mothers and families on postpartum recovery, newborn care, and breastfeeding techniques.
• Advocate for evidence-based practices and support continuous improvements in postpartum care delivery.

Qualifications:

• Hold a minimum of 3+ years of mother-baby and postpartum nursing experience.
• Possess an active NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
• Certification in BLS (AHA), NRP, and C-EFM/Advanced Fetal Monitoring is required.
• Demonstrate strong clinical skills in labor and delivery, postpartum, antepartum, and neonatal care.
• Exhibit excellent communication and patient advocacy skills.
