Registered Nurse – Operating Room

Operating Room Nurse

Provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in the operating room. Responsible for applying the nursing process to ensure safe, effective perioperative care and patient outcomes.

• Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans for surgical patients.
• Administer and monitor medications and interventions during procedures.
• Document assessment findings, treatment plans, and patient responses accurately.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive perioperative care.
• Supervise and evaluate the work of non-nursing direct care providers in the operating room.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.

• Hold an active NJ State Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
• Possess an ASN or BSN degree in nursing.
• Maintain current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS are preferred.
• Demonstrate clinical knowledge in surgical nursing, including trauma, neuro, ortho, and endovascular procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
• Experience working in a Level I Trauma setting is required; scrub experience is a plus.
