Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery provides specialized nursing care to women during childbirth and postpartum. They assess, plan, and implement patient-centered care to ensure safe and effective delivery experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patients’ conditions through comprehensive assessments.
• Develop and coordinate individualized care plans for laboring women.
• Perform therapeutic interventions including monitoring fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs.
• Document all care activities accurately and in compliance with standards.
• Advocate for evidence-based practices and support innovations in obstetric care.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Valid NJ State Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery, OR, Postpartum, or Antepartum.
• ASN or higher nursing degree required; BSN preferred.
• Certifications in BLS (AHA), NRP, and ACLS preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and patient advocacy skills.
• Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
