Do you have a heart for other cultures? And do you enjoy teaching refugees the basics of the Dutch language? Then we're looking for you!
Role OverviewAs a volunteer you will teach 'Basic Dutch' to a group of residents (10-12 residents). Basic Dutch focuses on teaching enough basic words for the resident to be able to cope with everyday life on and around the location.
ResponsibilitiesYou as a volunteer:
- Prepares the lessons (for which a complete curriculum is available)
- Teaches the residents
- Keeps track of the progress of the participating residents
- Maintains contact with the contact person of the COA
In principle, you perform the tasks on your own, but you also consult with the other volunteers. If you prefer to start a group together with another volunteer, this is also possible.
Job RequirementsYou as a volunteer:
- Have affinity with residents from different cultural and language backgrounds
- Has a good command of the Dutch language and is eager to convey this
- Speaks English (recommended but not required)
The working days can be completed in consultation. Our preference in terms of time is 9.30 - 11.00 in the morning. You can choose to participate at least once a week and a maximum of 2 lessons per week.
