Non-Profit & Social Impact
Community Health, Mental Health, Volunteer / Humanitarian, Non-Profit / Outreach
We have many little short‑term research projects, some of which can be completed in a couple of hours. We are forever compiling various lists that help to inform our long‑term volunteers of possible contacts or organizations that need to be added to our databases.
We also require endless amounts of video and text content for our social media platforms and our website. If you are someone who loves researching the web and you have a couple of hours to spare or you just can’t sleep, please contact us…we have something for you to do. You will be helping the formerly incarcerated and FREE to build better programming.
Thank you in advance for your service.

Established in July 2013, Freedom House Reentry Education and Employment Corporation (FREE) is a not‑for‑profit organization that provides wraparound services to formerly incarcerated adults, veterans and their children. FREE is a registered California 501(c)(3) not‑for‑profit corporation in good standing.
Our Mission is to reduce recidivism through reentry programming and by creating social enterprise opportunities that empower the formerly incarcerated, their families and communities.
FREE programming includes the following:
- Get Help App (GHAPP) supports the successful and safe transition of adults from secure confinement back to their families and communities. It is available free of charge from Google Play or the Apple App Store and provides a 24/7 source of support. GHAPP connects users to:
- Trained Peer Mentors via phone or text messaging
- A live referral resource hotline that connects individuals to every possible resource, including available employment opportunities
- A group chat monitored by a trained Peer Mentor
- A resume‑creator tool that produces the perfect resume by simply submitting an online application
- For family and friends, GHAPP provides:
- A live referral resource hotline focused on reintegration support
- A group chat monitored by a trained family‑member volunteer
- FREE believes GHAPP will help reduce recidivism by at least 39% and decrease state correctional expenditures by millions.
- Vet Help App Phone Program (VHAPP) is a veteran‑specific version of GHAPP that provides the same supports and includes a cellular phone device with the patented Vet Help App installed.
- Both GHAPP and VHAPP include:
- 24/7 Reentry Referral Resource Hotline
- 24/7 Peer Mentorship for live‑peer mentoring to individuals reentering the community from incarceration. Mentors are available to speak, text or chat in times of crisis.
