JobOverview
The position is a full‑time Supervisor II in the Stockpile Experimentation & Operations (SEO) organization. The supervisor will work in a national laboratory environment, leading a multidisciplinary team to support diagnostic fielding and development for weapons physics experiments conducted at the Nevada National Security Site. This role reports primarily to the NNSS and supports fielding efforts for a wide variety of diagnostic detection and recording systems, with an emphasis on electro‑mechanical and radiographic imaging.
Key Responsibilities- Directly supervises a multi‑disciplinary team of technicians, engineers, and scientists, monitoring performance against specific goals and metrics.
- Implements and follows company policies, procedures, and directives.
- Creates an environment where employees feel safe to raise issues, empowered to address issues, and supported to resolve them.
- Interacts daily with subordinates, support organizations, and multi‑organizational project teams.
- Establishes activity‑level work control documents and conducts pre‑job and post‑job briefings.
- Ensures the team meets customer expectations and deliverables.
- Provides day‑to‑day work direction while ensuring scope, schedule, and budget are met.
- Works with managers, supervisors, and employees to de‑conflict work and resolve issues.
- Will perform work of the same type as those being supervised, providing technical guidance when necessary.
- Performs additional duties unique to this position as assigned by the manager.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training and experience, plus a minimum of 8 years of related and progressively responsible experience.
- At least 3 years of experience at the Department of Energy (DOE) complex preferred.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with all levels of employees, customers, and outside agencies.
- Capable of prioritizing and scheduling multiple activities efficiently while meeting required deadlines.
- Attention to detail and accuracy required to ensure compliance with MSTS and DOE regulations, procedures, and federal and state laws.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to deal with conflicting personalities in a professional manner while maintaining confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and apply leadership concepts with an emphasis on continuous improvement and team building.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Nevada National Security Site, 65 miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada. - Work schedule:
4/10 s, Monday‑Thursday (with flexibility as required). - Pre‑placement physical examination, including a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance‑abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

Annual salary range: $ – $. Full‑time employees receive medical, dental, and vision insurance; a pension and a 401(k); paid time off and 96 paid holidays; relocation assistance (if located more than 75 miles from the work location); tuition assistance and reimbursement; and additional benefits.
Security & ScreeningMSTS is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre‑employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants are subject to a federal background investigation to meet DOE clearance requirements. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct, or other indicators of untrustworthiness can result in denial of clearance.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years of age, and able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q‑level security clearance.
