Lead Dental Assistant - Part Time
Supporting dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with Nevada dental standards. - Reviews charts daily in Open Dental, making sure that assistants are completing chart information accurately throughout the day.
- Resolves daily audits by facilitating the team member to correct the audit, identifying anyone responsible and noting their name along with the resolution. It’s important that you have team members responsible for reconciliation measures.
- Creates staff schedules, tracks back‑office work schedules, ensures appropriate staffing for daily coverage, coordinates days off, communicates and approves requested days off, monitors assistant approved OT hours, and tracks hours so assistants work according to schedule. In the absence of the Practice Manager, the BO Lead should be able to perform these functions on behalf of the Practice Manager if so delegated.
- Consistently works with the Practice Manager to facilitate back‑office staff schedule.
- Reviews the CHOICE Healthcare Services Employee Manual and Policy Notices.
- Enforces, reviews and applies the CHOICE Healthcare Services Employee Manual and Policy Notice criteria by discussing it with the team and/or reporting issues to supervisors for further action (e.g., dress code, eye protection, using proper coverage while taking x‑rays, not brushing teeth after lunch).
- Maintains office flow, ensuring a minimum patient wait time of no more than 15 minutes in the waiting room and no more than 1 hour total chair time for back‑office procedures.
- Utilizes downtime to recover ops, open bay, and sterilization.
- Schedules and tracks hours of externships and new employees, completes evaluations, conducts evaluation reviews with instructors, and supports assistants with internship training.
- Performs and oversees training of new employees to ensure excellent performance and training success.
- Coordinates routine inventory checks and orders according to protocol using the standard Master Price List and communicates with the Procurement Team.
- Works with HR and the Practice Manager to coordinate OSHA responsibilities, maintains OSHA required logs, postings, deadlines, updates, and ensures standards are met for all offices.
- Certification from a dental college, or three to six months related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1+ years of dental back‑office lead or supervisory experience.
- Bilingual in Spanish (preferred).
- X‑ray Nevada certification or affidavit.
- BLS certification.
- 4‑hour Infection Control certification.
