The organization empowers underserved women, including survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking, and incarceration, to achieve economic independence and personal healing. Through the Tu Organics Beauty Academy, a state-approved cosmetology training program, participants gain technical skills along with financial literacy, entrepreneurship knowledge, and eco‑conscious beauty practices.
The foundation provides scholarships, cosmetology kits, mentorship, job placement, and wrap‑around support services to support sustainable employment and community reintegration. This is a full‑time, on‑site Licensed Cosmetology Instructor role based in Pahrump, NV. The instructor will teach state‑approved cosmetology curriculum, including theory and practical skills in hair, skin, and nail care, while ensuring compliance with state licensing requirements. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, delivering classroom and hands‑on instruction, assessing student performance, and maintaining accurate records of attendance and progress. The role also involves mentoring students, supporting their personal and professional development, and promoting eco‑conscious and trauma‑informed practices aligned with Tu Organics Foundation’s mission.
The instructor will collaborate with staff to support job placement efforts, participate in program improvement, and help maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
- Active state cosmetology instructor license in Nevada (or eligibility to obtain), with strong technical proficiency in hair, skin, and nail services.
- Demonstrated experience teaching or training in cosmetology or a related field, including lesson planning and student assessment.
- Ability to create an inclusive, trauma‑informed, and supportive classroom environment, particularly for underserved and justice‑impacted learners.
- Strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback and motivate diverse learners.
- Organizational and time‑management skills for maintaining student records, tracking progress, and meeting regulatory and program requirements.
- Commitment to eco‑conscious beauty practices, social entrepreneurship, and the mission of empowering individuals toward economic independence.
- Basic proficiency with computers and instructional technology (e.g., digital learning platforms, presentation tools).
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications or education in cosmetology, education, or social services are a plus.
- Experience working with nonprofits, community‑based organizations, or vulnerable populations is highly beneficial.
