Job Description

Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) for the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). MSTS Industrial Hygiene is looking for a high‑performance individual to provide industrial hygiene support to underground, construction, and other field work as assigned.

• Support the Industrial Hygiene program for operations, including construction, maintenance, and experimentation activities during day and back/swing shift operations.
• Maintain, operate, and ensure calibration of sampling and monitoring equipment.
• Perform indoor and outdoor work, including construction, underground, and nuclear facilities, in extreme temperatures and in chemical protective clothing.
• Conduct industrial hygiene work as directed by the Senior Industrial Hygienist, including characterizing work areas and release items.
• Observe and document work activities.
• Participate in the Industrial Hygiene Technician Qualification Program.
• Accept individual responsibility for environment, safety, health, and quality processes.
• Provide support to MSTS employees in monitoring and respiratory protection, especially in underground locations.
• Track, enter, and maintain IH records in the Open Range database (Exposure Assessments, Health Hazard Evaluations, Hot Work Permits, calibration data).
• Comply with regulations and procedures for environment, safety, health, and quality, and report hazards promptly.
• Participate in MSTS environment, safety, health, and quality initiatives.

• Associate degree related to the position plus at least 5 years’ progressive experience, or high school diploma plus 7 years’ progressive experience.
• Must be fitted for and qualify for various respiratory protection and personal protective equipment.
• Planning and organizing skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently or as part of a team.
• Willingness to support both day and back/swing shift operations.
• Ability to work in underground environments and tunnels without claustrophobia.
• Strong computer skills desired (MS Office, data management).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q‑level security clearance (U.S. citizenship, age 18+).

MSTS requires pre‑employment drug testing and background review, including checks of references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. $34.53 - $51.80 per hour

Location:

Nevada National Security Site (65 miles northwest of Las Vegas).

Work schedule:

4/10s Monday to Thursday.
