Thacker Pass is the largest known lithium resource in the United States. Once complete, the mine and processing facilities will produce more lithium carbonate than any other facility in the United States by far — enough to power 1 million electric vehicles per year. As the EPCM contractor for Lithium Americas, Bechtel is responsible for managing and integrating the efforts of a team contractors engineering and building the facility.

We are also managing procurement of about $1 Billion in goods and services. Earth work began in 2023 and design and procurement of long-lead equipment is underway. The project is located in the high desert and wide-open spaces of north-central Nevada about 25 miles from the Oregon border, 1 hour northwest of Winnemucca, Nevada and 3 hours northeast of Reno.

Planned with sustainability and the environment in mind, the facility will use its excess process heat to generate electricity and will recycle process water up to seven times. Once the second phase of the project is complete, Thacker Pass will produce more than 16 times the current U.S. output of lithium. In this role, you will provide project field engineering specialization and expertise with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and subcontract coordination. Your recommendations will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements. #LI-NP1

• Knowledge of multiple technical engineering disciplines relating to the construction of heavy industrial projects.
• Thorough knowledge of construction activities as they relate to engineering disciplines, cost and scheduling, and contract administration.
• Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook and the Bechtel Core Processes as they relate to area of responsibility.
• Knowledge of project-specific environmental compliance requirements.
  
  Knowledge of Bechtel's "Zero Accidents" safety program.
• Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications in accordance with current Bechtel Standard Application Program (BSAP) standards.
• Knowledge of current industry design standards.
• Fluent in written and spoken English

• University/B.S degree with 10-13 years of experience or 14-17 years of relevant experience.

• Experience with Bechtel direct hire union craft preferred
• Contract management experience
• Understanding of applicable Bechtel work processes including Standard Work Process Procedures is preferred.
• Experience in mining and metals preferably copper
• Familiarity with Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs) including Info Works, TEAMWorks, BPS, PTR, eSub and other automation tools which are used on Bechtel projects is an asset.
• Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
• Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
• Excellent communication and problem solving ability
