Position Summary

As an Automation Design Engineer, you'll conceptualize, design, and program specialized industrial automation equipment that solves complex manufacturing challenges. Your expertise will extend from initial concept through installation, including on-site troubleshooting and customer support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create innovative designs for diverse industrial applications including synchronous and non-synchronous automation systems, manual and lean equipment, work holding fixtures, assembly equipment, crimping systems, multi-station systems, and functional test equipment
  • Apply your expertise in powered systems, material handling, sensors, instrumentation, robotics, and vision systems
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop solutions that meet technical requirements within budget and timeline constraints
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize systems to ensure peak performance
  • Develop comprehensive documentation including operational manuals and technical drawings
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within our ISO business quality framework

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial automation or related field
  • Hands-on experience with PLC programming from scratch
