Water Quality and Protection Manager

Position Overview

Under the direction of the Utilities Superintendent, this position oversees drinking water treatment and water quality, wastewater treatment plant operations, and regulatory compliance to ensure protection of public health and the District’s water resources. The role provides guidance on monitoring and reporting programs and supports the implementation of efficient, cost‑effective treatment processes.

• Supervises water quality, protection, and laboratory staff.
• Coordinates with regulatory agencies.
• Addresses compliance risks and exceedances.
• Supports source water protection and capital improvement planning.

• B.S. in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Sciences, or related field.
• 3 years related experience, including 3 years in a lead or supervisory role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must possess or obtain a Grade III Water Treatment certification from the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP) and a Grade III Wastewater Treatment certification from the Nevada Water Environment Association (NWEA) within 3 years of employment.

Salary $122,117 – $170,976/year DOE. Includes a competitive benefits package and recreation privileges.
