Exploration Manager – Nevada

Responsible for leading the design, execution, and continuous improvement of exploration programs across Coeur’s district-scale landholdings s the exploration pipeline from target generation and prioritization through drill program design, execution, evaluation, and technical handoff to Resource Modeling and Technical Services. Accountable for advancing high‑quality near‑mine, resource growth, and early‑stage opportunities that support mine life extension, operational flexibility, and long‑term value creation.

Provides technical and people leadership for a multidisciplinary exploration team, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with Coeur’s standards, strategic objectives, and annual exploration plan. Works closely with Site Operations, Technical Services, Mine Planning, Metallurgy, Environmental, Finance, Supply Chain, and Corporate Exploration to integrate exploration priorities with site business needs, infrastructure timing, permitting requirements, and long‑term planning.

Responsibilities
  • Lead safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible exploration activities in alignment with Coeur standards, MSHA requirements, site procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership for exploration strategy, target generation, program design, geological interpretation, workflows, standards, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage the Rochester exploration pipeline from concept through drill testing and resource handoff, including target ranking, stage‑gating, drill motivation, prioritization, and advancement decisions.
  • Design and execute near‑mine, infill, expansion, scout, and Greenfields programs aligned with Life of Mine strategy, infrastructure timing, permitting constraints, and business priorities.
  • Advance district‑and deposit‑scale understanding by integrating geological, geochemical, geophysical, drilling, production, historical, and operational datasets into clear exploration hypotheses.
  • Deliver high‑quality geological data, interpretations, models, and technical handoffs that support Resource Modeling, Technical Services, mineral resource estimation, and mine planning.
  • Maintain data integrity through disciplined collection, database management, QA/QC monitoring, documentation, and adherence to established standards.
  • Set clear program objectives, success criteria, risks, opportunities, decision points, and expected outcomes; track progress against approved plans, budgets, milestones, and KPIs.
  • Prepare, manage, and reconcile exploration operating and capital budgets, including drilling, assaying, contractors, field programs, permitting support, and technical studies.
  • Manage drilling and exploration contractors to ensure safe execution, quality performance, cost control, schedule adherence, invoice accuracy, and compliance with site standards.
  • Partner with site and corporate functions to integrate exploration plans with operating needs, long‑range planning, annual budgeting, quarterly updates, and value creation priorities.
  • Build, coach, and retain a capable exploration team by setting clear expectations, developing technical capability, supporting succession planning, and fostering accountability.
  • Foster a culture of curiosity, collaboration, ownership, continuous improvement, and respectful challenge within the exploration team and across site functions.
  • Communicate exploration results, program status, risks, opportunities, and investment rationale clearly to site, corporate, technical, and executive audiences.
  • Ensure exploration activities and outputs support Coeur’s internal governance requirements, reporting obligations, and applicable mineral resource disclosure standards.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, Geoscience, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Professional registration or certification preferred where applicable.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive exploration experience, including leadership of exploration programs and technical teams in a mine‑site or district‑scale environment.
