Douglas County Community Development is seeking a dependable and conscientious professional who works well independently while still remaining a collaborative team member to fill the current vacancy for a Civil Engineering Plans Examiner. By providing engineering duties in the review and inspection of proposed development plans and projects, the position plays a key role in helping the Engineering division to achieve its objectives in promoting the health, safety, and general welfare of the public.
The right candidate will be an excellent communicator with strong time management skills who can consistently meet deadlines and deliver high quality work. Primary Objectives
Performs intermediate work providing engineering duties related to the design and construction of new development projects; leading and performing reviews of plans and inspecting projects; collecting and presenting data and preparing reports; providing information and advice to the public and staff; performs related tasks as apparent or assigned.
This is a safety sensitive position and is subject to random and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.

Primary Duties And ResponsibilitiesMinimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field and a minimum of two (2) years of experience interpreting maps, plans, reports and specifications, graphs and statistical data; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Certifications /Licenses
- Valid Driver's License
