Medical Assistant - CVH Senior Care - Full Time

Full time. Gardnerville, NV.

Position Summary:

Provide comfortable, safe, and professional care for clinic patients from infant to geriatric. Maintain efficient patient flow for clinicians. Knowledge of equipment and QA checks. Stock supplies and order appropriately. Schedule patients for testing procedures and ensure test results and reports scanned into patient chart before appointments.

Position Requirements
  • Certification:
    Must hold current certification as a Medical Assistant by AAMA, AMT, CCMA, NCMA, or another agency recognized by the state medical board (or obtain within 90 days of hire).
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Office Laboratory Assistant license (or obtain within 90 days of hire).
  • Reading, writing, excellent spelling, organizing, and filing skills.
  • Patient‑centered care.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Computer and word‑processing skills.
  • Professional phone etiquette; bilingual preferred.
  • Previous experience in a clinic setting preferred.
Position Essential Functions Patient Care
  • Work with clinic staff for patient‑centered care with effective communication.
  • Assist physicians and providers by collecting vital signs and other pertinent data.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, take weight and vital signs, assist in determining medical problems.
  • Obtain brief medical history, including age, date of birth, chief complaint, current medications, dosage, and allergies.
  • Assist in minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
  • Sterilize and set up instruments.
  • Prepare examination rooms and instruments.
  • Stock supplies.
  • Explain and educate patient families regarding treatments and interventions.
  • Schedule patients for testing procedures, obtain test results, and ensure lab reports, x‑rays, and other information are scanned in the record per office guidelines.
  • Authorize and fax pharmacy refill requests per provider instruction.
  • Complete routine office duties: empty waste baskets, clean and disinfect exam rooms, order supplies, maintain equipment controls daily, weekly, and monthly.
  • Document all aspects of patient care accurately and timely.
Communication
  • Answer and route telephone calls, take messages, provide routine information.
  • Return phone calls promptly.
  • Relay messages to staff via EMR inbox.
  • Work efficiently in EMR and its inbox.
