Rn Cardiac Rehab - Per Diem
* IMPORTANT NOTE:
In lieu of benefits due to "per diem" status, 15% will be added to the hourly rate. Per diem employees are offered work on an "as-needed" basis.
POSITION SUMMARY:
A Registered Nurse (RN) in cardiac rehabilitation provides comprehensive care to patients recovering from or managing cardiovascular disease, focusing on improving heart health and reducing the risk of future problems. They guide patients on a path to heart-healthy lifestyles, monitoring their progress, and providing education and support.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education Required
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Nursing.
License Required
- Current Nevada RN license required.
Certification Required
- BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
- ACLS certificate required.
Minimum Work Experience
- Two years of experience in cardiac rehab preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in cardiac nursing care required.

- Patient Advocacy:
Continuously assess patients' cardiac status, including vital signs, ECG, and other relevant parameters according to the patient treatment plan.
Supervise and monitor patients during exercise programs, interpreting their responses and adjusting intensity as needed.
Educate patients and families about cardiac health, disease management, lifestyle modifications, and the rehabilitation process.
Assist in diagnostic procedures like EKG and stress tests, and manage pacemakers or defibrillators as needed.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting assessments, interventions, and progress.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, physical therapists, and dietitians, to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
Advocate for patients' needs and preferences, ensuring they receive the best possible care and support.

Per Diem positions have no guaranteed hours or set schedule. The position will fill in for individuals who take unplanned and/or planned time off.
