Director of Respiratory Therapy works and supervises therapists a wide variety of settings to evaluate, treat, and manage patients of all ages with respiratory illnesses and other cardiopulmonary disorders. The Director of Respiratory Therapy participates in clinical decision-making and patient education, develops and implements respiratory care plans, applies patient-driven protocols, utilizes evidence-based clinical practice guidelines, and participates in health promotion, disease prevention, and disease management.
The Director of Respiratory Therapy is required to exercise considerable independent judgment, under the supervision of a physician, in the respiratory care of patients. Responsible for scheduling, supervising, training, and any need coaching for all Respiratory Therapists. Carries out all job responsibilities in alignment with the Hospital’s mission, vision, and values. Reports to the Administrator.

- Must hold an active RRT license from the N.B.R.C. AND
- Must have pending application with the Board of Medical Examiners for Nevada State License AND
- Nevada State Blood Gas Technologist License application submitted within 2 weeks of hire AND
- Proven experience in supervising others and proven techniques and strategies for training therapists AND
- Per NRS 449 and NRS 200, successful applicant(s) must pass required state and federal background checks AND
- Experience in pediatric and neonatal intensive care is helpful, but not required.
- Must relocate to Hawthorne, NV and live within 15 minutes of the hospital's physical address (not a commutable position) AND
- Be a responding member of the code team AND
- Report to all scheduled manager's meetings and trainings AND
- Be willing and available to share stand-by and call-back coverage with the Respiratory Team (hours vary).
Salary $114,400 - $135, 200/annually DOE.
