Overview
The Laundry Attendant is responsible for performing all activities associated with the retrieval of soiled linen, processing of linen and distribution of clean linen. This position must also exhibit a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the Company’s brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P. – Kindness, Engagement, Empathy and Positivity).
Responsibilities- Effectively operate washing machines and dryers.
- Load and unload laundry according to standards.
- Remove and sort dirty linens and towels from laundry carts.
- Wash and dry all dirty linens, towels, rags, etc. as directed.
- Sort all hotel linen according to item, color, size, etc.
- Store & stock linens properly according to standards.
- Pre-treat stained linen before washing.
- Weigh linen hampers as required.
- Organize and prepare reject linen.
- Clean and maintain dryer filter and other equipment as trained.
- Sweep and mop laundry floors.
- Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Able to work independently.
- Carry heavy loads of linen around the hotel to the laundry department.
- Understand the usage of the equipment to include washing machines and dryers.
- Work in an environment where it is wet and humid.
- Must be able to speak English.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Minimum age requirement is 21.
One year laundry experience preferred but not required.
Mathematical SkillsBasic math skills.
Language Skills- Ability to move throughout the hotel (standing, walking, kneeling, and bending) for extended periods of time.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
- Ability to regularly move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 50 pounds.
- Constantly walking up to distances of 500 ft. during shift.
- Frequently stooping, reaching.
- Work performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment. There are occasional hot and cold temperature changes.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a smoke-filled environment.
- Work with others in close spaces.
- Moderate to high noise levels.
- Walk/stand on tile/mats/carpet/cement.
USD $15.00 - USD $15.00 /Hr.
