Summary of position

The digital communications and technology specialist performs work of moderate difficulty involving systems and data management, strategic communications, application management, training and support, digital safety and compliance, district communication, including emergency communications, branding & design, content creation, web management and training, integrated systems and approvals and infinite campus support.

Work is performed under the regular supervision of the director of information technology.

Responsibilities and essential functions

Parentsquare administration

? System & data management: configure district-level settings (user permissions, security protocols, notification preferences) and ensure the accuracy of contact data for message delivery via sms, email, and app notifications.

? Strategic communications: establish district-wide templates for newsletters and emergency alerts. Monitor engagement analytics (open rates, click-through rates) to improve communication efficacy. Manage the rollout of specialized features like forms/permissions, parent-teacher conference sign-ups, and in-app payments.

? Training & support: conduct professional development for school-level staff (admins, teachers, office staff). Troubleshoot login issues and delivery failures for parents/guardians, and maintain a library of "how-to" resources.

Classlink administration

? System & integration: configure single sign-on (sso), application provisioning, and security policies. Oversee automated syncing of student and staff roster data from infinite campus to ensure accurate user accounts and class enrollments.

? Application management: establish district-wide standards for the application library and access controls. Monitor application usage analytics to inform purchasing decisions and improve user adoption. Manage the secure rollout of specialized features like password reset tools, multi-factor authentication (mfa), and custom application integrations.

? Training & support: troubleshoot sso failures, account provisioning errors, and data sync issues for staff and students.

Linewize administration

? Digital safety & compliance: manage the linewize monitor system to identify high-risk digital behaviors (self-harm, cyberbullying). Promptly alert designated staff for intervention. Ensure all monitoring and filtering activities comply with cipa and federal/state privacy laws.

? Reporting & training: utilize usage analytics and audit logs to identify trends in student online behavior. Conduct professional development for school staff on interpreting data and using the system effectively.

? Parental engagement: oversee the linewize community and parent portal to provide families with resources to supervise school-issued devices at home.

District communications & branding

? Communications management: manage district communications and information flow through parentsquare, newsletters, websites, social media, and other platforms to keep all stakeholders informed.

? Content creation: create and implement district-wide digital and print communications, including news, press releases, articles, brochures, flyers, ads, videos, and other branded materials.

? Branding & design: design and maintain district branding assets (logos, business cards, letterheads, templates) to ensure consistency. Manage web content and design.

? Web management & training: oversee and provide training to school site webmasters to ensure alignment with district standards.

? Emergency communications: maintain and support communication systems for official announcements regarding school closures, delays, or emergency changes.

Integrated systems & approvals

? Infinite campus support: support the sis administrator on projects and develop expertise in the integrated functionality of infinite campus with parentsquare, classlink, and linewize.

? App approver: review all application requests from staff and students, including new educational applications and third-party sign-in requests.

Non-essential functions

? May be asked to assist and support related projects as directed by the director of information technology.

? Perform related duties as assigned.
