Sr. Product Engineer

Technical Writer

Location:

Minden, Nevada, USA (Remote)

Overall Requirements:

• International availability – currently Germany, Dubai, USA, Saudi Arabia
• Experience with extensive technical documentations Assembly / Disassembly / inspection procedures of electromechanical systems, for Oil&Gas Drilling Tools.
• Electronic procedures (Trac Labs PRIDE system).
• Generating (visual) content from technical documents like drawings or CAD models.
• Internal project management and monitoring capability.
• Planning of timelines for work packages in collaboration with BH.
• Monitoring and reporting of progress on work packages.
• Quality management capability Internal QA on delivered content according to BH specifications – "first time right".
• Reporting of KPIs and corrective actions.
• Training capability Internal knowledge database in addition to BH guidelines.
• Internal training of required knowledge in case of attrition or increase in team size.
• Expecting new resources to start fully trained on required software and BH guidelines without BH involvement.

Requirements for authors:

• Relevant experience as a technical writer for assembly / disassembly / inspection / calibration / test procedures / operation manuals / technical data sheets.
• Preferably around drilling tools for the Oil&Gas industry.
• Ability to understand and adhere to given writing and style standards based on BH guidelines.
• Experience with systems for electronic procedures, preferably Trac Labs PRIDE (eP-Author).
• Solid understanding of technical drawings and wiring diagrams and the technical skill to create work instructions based on them.
• Identifies general technical deviations from standard process in existing procedures and amends accordingly.
• Reviews and test drives draft procedures together with technicians in workshop. Adjusts the procedures accordingly.
• Creates visual representations of work instructions based on 3D models in Solidworks.
• Performs minor adjustments to 3D models by use of Solidworks (e.g. adding cables based on documentation scope).
• Uses Solid works Composer to finalize visualizations with predefined color schemes and annotations (bullets, symbols, etc.).
• Uses Adobe Photoshop or similar application to edit product pictures to support procedural steps.
• Excellent English skills oral and written. The resource for Germany needs to speak German as well to support local groups.
• Solid knowledge of Office software:
  Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, Word, Visio, Share Point.
• BH software: DBWorks, MaPS, DMSQuery, BHOS, Aha eP feedback portal.
• BHOS requirements:
  New Document Request (NDR), Revise Document Request (RDR), Obsolete Document Request (ODR).
