Project OverviewThacker Pass is the largest known lithium resource in the United States. Once complete, the mine and processing facilities will produce more lithium carbonate than any other facility in the United States, enough to power one million electric vehicles per year. Bechtel, as the EPCM contractor for Lithium Americas, manages and integrates the efforts of a team of contractors engineering and building the facility and oversees procurement of about $1 billion in goods and services.
The project is located in north‑central Nevada, near the Oregon border, about 25 miles from Winnemucca.
The Lead Turnover Coordinator represents the Construction functional group on the Thacker Pass Project. The coordinator ensures that turnover logic for areas and systems is communicated, coordinates walk‑downs, and manages punch‑list activities. The role oversees a team of technical and administrative personnel, maintains completion tracking programs, and ensures all required documentation and inspection forms are complete and presented for turnover.
Major Responsibilities- Develop a firm understanding of system and area scoping and required drawings for package development.
- Build system and area turnover packages both digitally and physically for turnover to startup and client.
- Schedule system and area walk‑downs and coordinate with construction, startup, and the client as applicable.
- Prepare system and area walk‑down packages.
- Lead system and area walk‑downs.
- Scribe all punch list items that arise on walk‑downs for input into the punch list tracking system.
- Input punch list items and maintain the punch list tracking system.
- Leverage data and create reporting for strategy development and decision making.
- Coordinate with construction manager on priorities and strategies for subcontracted work.
- Schedule walk‑downs for the scope.
- Validate punch list for the scope.
- Ensure inspection records are completed and submitted for the scope.
- Coordinate with direct hire supervision.
- Requires a bachelor's degree and 8–10 years of relevant experience, or 12–14 years of relevant work experience.
- Previous experience in field engineering or construction supervision.
- Previous experience in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated ability to oversee, prioritize, and execute multiple assignments involving multiple internal and external organizations.
- Strong communication skills.
- Working knowledge of P&IDs, single line diagrams, and civil/structural drawings.
- Industrial construction experience and experience with LNG facilities preferred.
- Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
- Familiarity with Teamworks and Setroute is a plus.
