To provide safe and efficient transportation for district students and perform custodial functions to maintain assigned site buildings in a clean, sanitary, and safe condition.

• Follow district procedures and training to ensure facility cleanliness.
• Floor care and maintenance throughout the facility, including hard surfaces and carpeting.
• Cleaning: sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming.
• Shampooing carpets, performing periodic spot cleaning, and deep cleaning.
• Stripping, waxing, sealing, and buffing using floor machines for surfaces such as VCT, HVT, tile, concrete, wood, and carpet.
• Clean, disinfect, and polish all plumbing fixtures – faucets, sinks, bathtubs, showers, drinking fountains, and toilets.
• Remove spots and graffiti from floors, walls, woodwork, furniture, carpets, and fixtures.
• Perform basic cleaning and sanitizing – furniture, walls, windows, whiteboards, electronics, high-touch areas, counters, lighting.
• Maintain, clean, and organize storage and equipment areas.
• Operate all equipment with care and according to safety standards; clean and maintain custodial equipment; submit work orders as needed.
• Ensure cleaning agents are utilized per label instructions with safety precautions.
• Collaborate with the day custodian to order supplies and maintenance repairs.
• Coordinate with administration regarding the use of school facilities for various activities.
• Conduct light maintenance and repairs: ceiling tile, light bulbs, landscaping, furniture repairs.
• Ensure health precautions for safety of students, employees, custodians, visitors.
• Follow the NCSD single-point entry protocol; secure gates, doors, rooms during school day and after use.
• Perform security checks of interior and exterior to ensure doors and gates are locked before vacating.
• Contact supervisor and MOSS for immediate assistance; submit detailed work orders.
• May be required to move, assemble, or disassemble furniture, equipment, or other items.
• Assist maintenance, operations, safety, security departments or others in emergencies.
• Obey all traffic laws.
• Observe all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
• Maintain student discipline on the bus.
• Keep assigned bus clean, including mirrors, windows, interior.
• Adhere to route, stops, and schedule set by supervisor.
• Report all accidents and complete required reports.
• Notify proper authority in case of mechanical failure or safety problems.
• Exercise responsible leadership on out-of-district school trips.
• Transport only authorized students and district employees.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections of assigned bus.
• Enforce district bus safety rules.
• Perform other related duties and functions as assigned.

Education, Training, and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current physical examination as required by CDL.
• Completion of district/state training course.

Licenses and Certifications

• Valid Nevada Commercial Driver License with Passenger & School Bus endorsements.

Screening and Compliance

• Ability to pass state and federal criminal background check.
• Compliance with NCSD Motor Carrier Part 382 Alcohol and Controlled Substance Testing Program.
• Successful candidate must complete a thorough background check and pass mandatory pre-employment drug & alcohol testing.
