General Maintenance Supervisor

The incumbent supervises a crew of mechanics, carpenters, and laborers to ensure a safe, efficient and productive work environment.

Essential Functions:

• Assign crews and equipment to specific tasks to meet daily maintenance goals and ensure that the area is safe for employees to work.
• Supervise crew activities during shifts to ensure safe and efficient completion of assignments.
• Develop crew skills to levels of maximum efficiency and safety.
• Works with General Maintenance Planner to ensure that all parts, special tools and equipment necessary to complete the planned work are available and accounted for before the job begins.
• Coordinate with Mine Personnel and Ancillary Personnel on repairs and maintenance to be completed.
• Returns well-documented and completed shift paperwork in a timely manner, attend meetings as necessary.
• Actively communicates with the General Supervisor, periodically update them on the status of work being performed.
• Ensure that all company policies are always abided by, namely in the areas of health, safety and environmental protection.
• Monitors work locations with a high level of attention to detail to ensure compliance with safety standards, operational requirements, and company expectations.
• Coordinates with external organizations, contractors, vendors, and service providers to facilitate repairs, maintenance activities, and system improvements as required.
• Maintains the highest standards of professionalism, respect, discretion, and confidentiality while interacting with employees, contractors, customers, and other stakeholders.
• Effectively manages rapidly changing priorities across multiple sites while maintaining team focus, productivity, morale, and alignment with organizational objectives.

• Supervises employees within Kinross/RMGC policies and procedures.
• Must have strong training and communication skills.
• Must be proficient at JDE, Microsoft Office and email systems.
• 5 years of equipment/site maintenance experience in a mining or construction environment.
• 3 years supervisory experience.
• Requires valid driver's license.
