Job DescriptionGeneral Objectives:
The Geology Manager reports to the General Manager and is a key member of the Marigold Leadership Team, responsible for developing, managing, and executing the Mine Geology and Resource development work at Marigold, Trenton Canyon, and Buffalo Valley.
- Promote and ensure compliance of Marigold’s safety and environmental policy.
- Ensure that the Geology/Mineral resource team and contractors adhere to state and federal regulations.
- Directly manage the Marigold’s exploration activities and exploration team including Trenton Canyon and Buffalo Valley.
- Design and successfully deliver discovery‑focused field programs that target options for growth of Marigold’s existing exploration portfolio and expansion of current resources and reserves.
- Manage and develop all in‑mine, near‑mine and green‑field drilling programs, including planning, performance, budget, cost control, administration, logistics, and reporting.
- Establish best practices and ensure technical expertise is effectively applied to meet project milestones and objectives.
- Collect and maintain the highest quality data and continuously monitor data collection to meet all required standards for reporting.
- Ensure completion of all technical work programs within approved timelines and budgets and deliver all required information in a timely manner.
- Coach, mentor, and supervise a team of experienced mine and exploration geologists, including field technicians.
- Manage key stakeholders, including contractors and consultants.
- Debate and present models, targets, and results to company executives and engage with senior technical staff.
- Assist in establishing protocols and procedures for efficient drilling campaigns.
- Assist in compiling and reporting production and exploration activities, producing technical reports, resource statements, and statutory reporting.
- Proficient in the use of standard office software applications.
- Experience with Leapfrog and ArcGIS.
- Effective communication and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational skills with a results focus.
- Ability to coach and develop employees.
- Proactive problem anticipation and resolution within operational contexts.
- Active listening and formulation of confident, constructive recommendations.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10–15 years of tertiary qualifications in Geology.
- Previous experience in the Carlin trend – preferred.
