Heavy Equipment Operator - Second Shift

Position Summary

The Heavy Equipment Operator safely operates various light and heavy equipment in a hazardous waste treatment processing facility or landfill.

• Assists in off‑loading trucks and unloading waste.
• Operates equipment to stabilize and handle waste.
• Processes treatment of materials and containers.
• Samples post‑treated materials for testing by laboratory.
• Loads cleared post‑treated materials for shipment to landfill or disposal.
• Performs general preventative maintenance to equipment and general housekeeping.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation.
• Ability to use hand and power tools applicable.
• Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance (e.g., check tire pressure, check oil and water levels).
• Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
• Must be able to prioritize, stay focused and handle multiple, diverse responsibilities.
• A valid driver’s license may be required for some positions.

• Ability to pass 40‑hour HAZWOPER Training upon hire.
• Works second shift after a short training period (Monday – Friday 3:00pm – 11:30pm).

$17.65 to $24.25 (range varies by locality).
