Rural Health Development and Anti Hunger VISTA (Pahrump1)

The VISTA member will help increase capacity for social service and poverty eradication agencies. This will include food systems that provide access to food in our communities by working with food pantries, agency partners, hunger-relief advocates and local community groups to build capacity in HCC's food pantry programs' volunteer development, food security resources marketing, donor development, nutrition and education. They will create materials and trainings that will be updatable and reusable for building the capacity of food pantries, service organizations,and agencies.

The VISTA will increase awareness of the issue of poverty, food insecurity, and socioeconomic gaps, which will create a new pool of donors and volunteers to address the issue now and in the future. Further help on this page can be found by clicking here.

Member Duties :
Member will work with organizations focused on social service, food security, poverty eradication to engage volunteers and develop volunteer management practices and processes. Will develop systems and assist with fundraising to support programming. Will create materials and tools for organizations to build their capacity to utilize volunteers to deliver programming and to access resources to support their projects.
