In this role, you will perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across various Nevada locations. You will conduct primarily interview-based assessments, with some physical testing, such as range of motion and muscle strength evaluations. This is a non-treatment, non-prescribing position designed for qualified healthcare professionals interested in serving veterans on a PRN basis. The work involves minimal administrative follow-up, focusing on delivering quick and efficient evaluations.
Required Skills:
- Current Nurse Practitioner license with valid certification in Nevada
- Proven experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedic surgery
- Strong interview and assessment skills
- Ability to perform physical assessments (range of motion, muscle strength testing)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and professionalism in report documentation
Skills:
- Previous experience with compensation and pension examinations
- Familiarity with veterans' healthcare policies and procedures
- Experience working independently in a clinical setting
- Comfortable with quick credentialing and onboarding processes
Education and Experience:
- Master’s Degree or higher in Nursing Practice or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years' clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner
- Proven track record in performing assessments for insurance or governmental agencies
- Own an active Nurse Practitioner license in Nevada
- Own or have access to a private office location within the specified areas
- Availability for PRN, day-shift assignments (days, weekends as needed)
- Willingness to travel within a 20-50 mile radius of specified locations
- Engagement in ongoing administrative documentation such as reports and addendums (compensated within rates)
Hourly Pay Rate: $402.00
