Registered NURSE, PACU, Part Time

About the Role

We are seeking a Part‑time Registered Nurse (PACU) at Sierra Medical Center, a 170‑bed acute care hospital in the Northern Nevada Health System. The RN will provide bedside care to infant through geriatric patients in the Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit, monitor physiological status, communicate with surgeons and anesthesiologists, and assist with PACU equipment and inventory. The position offers full benefits and a convenient schedule.

• Perform pre‑procedure head‑to‑toe assessment on all patients and reassess post‑procedure as needed.
• Demonstrate supportive bedside report behaviors using IMAP & SBAR.
• Develop individualized plans of care and evaluate their effectiveness.
• Assess and manage pain, utilizing appropriate pain‑management techniques.
• Educate patients and families regarding pain management.
• Assist with performance‑improvement activities, maintain regulatory and hospital policies, procedures, and standards.

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN‑approved RN program.
• Current Nevada nursing license.
• Current BLS certificate.
• Current ACLS required.
• Preferred:
  One year full‑time or three years part‑time experience in an acute‑care PACU setting.
• Handle with Care certification (or obtained within six months of employment) in the required specialty.
• Must pass any pre‑employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
