Supervisory Wildland Firefighter (Engine Captain)

As a Supervisory Wildland Firefighter (Engine Captain) your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Exercises supervisory authority to regularly assigned firefighters within a fire module or crew.
  • Applies an experienced understanding of firefighter safety, fire behavior, topography of the area weather, fuels, and training in fire management.
  • Plans action and direct utilization of fireline resources; directs assigned suppression operations.
  • Procures, maintains, inventory tools and equipment.
  • Supervises and directs fuels management projects that include prescribed fire, and mechanical and biological treatments. Participates in fire prevention events.
