Location: Virginia City

  • 3–4+ years of experience as a Safety Coordinator or in a similar safety role
  • OSHA 30 Certification required
  • Strong understanding of safety fundamentals, policy, code compliance, and applicable standards
  • Background in construction or manufacturing safety environments
  • Experience working within a structured chain of command
  • Soft skills and communication abilities suitable for interacting with field teams, superintendents, and leadership
  • Ability to work second shift and extended schedules (OT eligible)
  • Ability to proactively reach out to internal/external resources when needed

Plusses

  • Experience with in general contracting (GC) or electrical contracting (EC)
  • Additional safety certifications (CHST, NFPA 70E, First Aid/CPR, etc.)
  • Prior experience supporting switch gear, electrical rooms, or similar high‑risk environments

Overview

The Safety Coordinator will support onsite safety operations. This role requires someone who fits well within the existing safety system, understands the chain of command, and can effectively collaborate with the site superintendent and general superintendent. Responsibilities include maintaining safety compliance, supporting field teams, and conducting routine inspections. While challenges will arise, the role is observation‑based—this coordinator will identify issues but will not be making product or ordering recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the onsite daytime safety coordinator, ensuring compliance with OSHA, company policies, codes, and standards
  • Perform routine monthly inspections, including fire extinguishers and ladders
  • Conduct observation‑based safety walkthroughs and document findings
  • Communicate safety concerns clearly and professionally through proper channels
  • Support the team in understanding and following safe work practices
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with incident prevention efforts
  • Collaborate directly with field leadership and escalate issues appropriately
